What to Expect on Your Wedding Day
Your wedding day has arrived! And while there may be a lot happening around you, the ceremony itself should feel simple, relaxed and completely manageable.

My job is to take care of the ceremony, guide you through each step and make sure the legal requirements are completed correctly — so you can focus on each other.
Before the ceremony
I'll arrive early to make sure everything is ready and check in with the people involved in your ceremony.
I'll confirm where everyone is standing, check any last-minute details and make sure we're ready to begin.
The ceremony begins
Once everyone is ready, we'll begin.
Depending on the ceremony you've chosen, this may include your entrance, a welcome, your story, readings or special moments, your vows and the exchange of rings.
You don't need to remember what comes next. I'll guide you through the ceremony as we go.
The legal words
There are certain words that must be said during an Australian legal marriage ceremony.
Don't worry — we will have already discussed these before your wedding day, and I will guide you through them at the right time. Under Australian law, the authorised celebrant must say the required monitum, and each person marrying must say the legal vows required by the Marriage Act.
Your vows and rings
If you have chosen to write personal vows, this is usually where you'll share them.
You may also exchange rings or include another special element that is meaningful to you.
And yes — if the nerves kick in, I'll be right there to help.
Signing the marriage documents
After the ceremony, we will sign the required marriage certificates.
You will also need two witnesses who are at least 18 years old to witness the ceremony and sign the marriage certificates.
You're married!
Once the formalities are complete, it's time to celebrate.
We'll finish the ceremony in the way we've planned, and you can walk back down the aisle, hug your people, take photos, raise a glass — and enjoy the fact that you just got married.
You don't need to memorise the ceremony or worry about getting everything perfect. That's what I'm there for. I'll guide you through it, keep things flowing and make sure you can simply enjoy your day.
Every wedding ceremony is different. We'll talk through your ceremony beforehand so you know exactly what to expect.
